Let's Help People Get Back to Work
"TOGETHER WE CAN REACH THE GOAL"
Unemployment - and Underemployment - are still major problems in America today!
Much as happened - most of it good - since the horrible days of unemployment that occurred during the "Great Recession" of 2008-2009. The unemployment rate has dropped from 16% to its current rate of 5.1%. The papers are full of good news about the economy working at almost a full employment rate.
However, if you are unemployed today or working part-time because you can't get a full time job, that news doesn't seem so rosy to you. Sometimes, it's even more demoralizing:
-
“If the whole economy is roaring and I’m out of work, I must really be a loser”
-
"If I can't get a job in this environment, I might as well give up. There's no hope for me"
Lots of people feel that way. However, the thoughts are not justified. Here are a couple of facts:
-
The fact that you're unemployed has little to do with your skill level or even what an asset you've been to your companies in the past. It has everything to do with your skill of being good at the job search.
-
The picture isn't as rosy as portrayed in the headlines. If you're interested in the fall unemployment picture, please go here:

The simple fact is that most of the unemployed are not very good at the job search. There's a simple reason for it: they just haven't had to use the skills of the job seeker very often. You were probably quite good at your past job. However the job search is something completely different.
That's where TAG for Productivity comes in and there is one key ingredient that sets TAG apart: Passion! Bill Freind, the founder of TAG, has spent his entire career helping to empower and grow employees and loves what he does. There is no “business as usual” approach to the work that TAG does. Bill's motto is “whatever it takes” in helping people land their dream job and he has the results to show for his work.

We attack unemployment in 3 ways:
-Corporate Outplacement. This is our primary focus: working with corporations that are going through layoffs to help their displaced
employees become professional effective job seekers - and to land "The Job of Their Dreams".
-Seminar / Workshops. These are learning experiences composed of both classroom training and multiple workshop sessions to help
people not only learn the mechanics of becoming a professional job seeker but also to give them practical exercises and experience while
they are at the seminars.
-Coaching. This can be used in conjunction with a seminar or on its own. This is a one-on-one rigorous activity designed to not only teach
the skills required to become an effective job seeker but also to provide the three most important ingredients in getting better: Practice,
Practice, Practice!
Corporate Outplacement

There is an old saw that goes like this: "House guests, like fish, begin to stink after two days".
What does this have to do with the unemployed? A great deal. The longer someone is unemployed, the less desirable she becomes to hiring companies. It may not seem fair but it's a fact of life. Conversely, a laid off employee will never be more desirable than she is immediately after being laid off. Unfortunately, most candidates waste this "golden" time and can take weeks, if not months, to really get going in the job search. Sadly, many Outplacement Firms actually exacerbate this problem by one simple failing: Moving too slowly!

Seminar / Workshop

A seminar / workshop that is intelligently conceived, painstaking assembled and professionally executed is, in my opinion, the single best vehicle for imparting a vast amount of actionable information to the attendees in shortest possible time. This is the kind of seminar that has become a hallmark of TAG for Productivity. We are currently offering two such seminars:
-Employment Seminar/Workshop for the Unemployed and Underemployed
-Employment Seminar/Workshop for Recent College Graduates

Coaching

Pop quiz - three questions:
-
Name the number one golfer in the world today.
-
Name the top five companies in the United States.
-
Name three of the top business executives in the world.
Done? Good. Now what do all these entities have in common? They all make extensive use of coaches. Dustin Johnson's rise to number 1 in the world is due in no small part to Butch Harmon, his swing coach since 2010. Virtually every one of the Fortune 500 companies uses “coaches” like McKinsey and Bain to help them succeed.
Who doesn’t use coaches? Unfortunately, some of the people that need it most: the unemployed, the underemployed and people who are looking to make a job change.
TAG provides individual coaching in each of these areas. TAG has an exemplary track record of success. To learn more about our offerings, please click below.
